South Wigston Health Centre was built in 1982 on the site of the old South Wigston railway station. The practice has been in South Wigston for a long time, some patients may remember the old Victorian house on Blaby Road where Dr Redmond and Dr Yates practised. They built new premises in its garden (Albion Street, now a vet's surgery!), and the practice subsequently moved to the present premises. Photographs of the old premises are to be seen on the wall in the waiting area.
A new extension in 1998 improved wheelchair access and allowed us to find room for more staff and patients.
Although the complexity of providing good medical care has increased enormously over the last few years, we wish to do our best to offer our patients personal caring attention. We are grateful for the support of our patients.
